Singapore Ford Factory - diorama

The Ford factory in Bukit Timah, built in 1941, may be the first automobile plant in Southeast Asia. But it is best known as the site of the British surrender from Singapore to the Japanese on February 15, 1942.
The members of the British delegation who went to the factory on that fateful day were a picture of dejection, as can be seen from tapes and footage of the event.
Among them was the interpreter Major Cyril Wild, who threw aside the white flag he had carried to the meeting after seeing the media trying to film the event.
