Sergeant Pilot George Unwin

Sergeant Pilot George Unwin
George "Grumpy" Unwin enlisted in the RAF in 1929. In 1935 he was selected for pilot training and was eventually posted to 19 Squadron as a Spitfire pilot. By the end of the Battle of Britain he was credited with 14 enemy aircraft. He was commissioned in 1941 and survived the war. He died in 2006.
