An Ottoman cavalry charge was a central, rapid, and often crushing tactical maneuver in the Ottoman military, especially dominant from the 14th to the 17th centuries. It involved light horsemen (e.g. Akinci) for harassment and heavy horsemen (Sipahi) for breakthrough, often combined with archery and flanking attacks to create confusion and destroy enemy formations.
